Empire Fortune Slot Review

Released: October 2016

The Empire Fortune slots game is produced by Yggdrasil Gaming. Yggdrasil Gaming take their name from Norse mythology where Yggdrasil is a magical tree where dragons lived and Odin sacrificed himself. Yggdrasil Gaming are one of the smaller slot development companies on the market at the moment – primarily focusing on lottery and scratch card game - and do not offer a full casino platform. They lease their games out to casinos using other platforms as a bolt on package. Yggdrasil Gaming publish the Return to Player/House Edge of their slots games within the game help file. The House Edge of Empire Fortune is 5.70%.

Bathe yourself in the fortunes of an empire.

The Empire Fortune game has 5 reels which are 3 symbols high. There are 20 paylines and you can bet one coin on each of the paylines.

There is no Wild symbol when playing Empire Fortune.

There are two bonus features when playing Empire Fortune. The first bonus feature is activated when you receive three or more of the ‘Bonus’ scatter symbol anywhere on the reels. If you receive two of the Bonus scatter symbol the reels showing the Bonus scatter symbol will be held while all other reels will be respun once to allow an additional opportunity to trigger the feature. When the bonus feature is triggered you’ll be shown a tripled layered prize wheel. If you received 3 Bonus symbols you start your spin on the bottom layer, if you received 4 Bonus symbols you start your spin on the middle layer and if you receive 5 Bonus symbols you start your spin on the top layer. When you spin the wheel you can win the following prizes:

- A cash prize.

- A cash prize with a respin.

- An arrow to award a spin on the next level up.

- 10 free spins with all wins doubled.

- 20 free spins with all wins multiplied by 4.

- 30 free spins with all wins multiplied by 10.

- 3, 6 or 12 rockets that will land on and award other prizes on the wheels.

- One of 3 progressive jackpots.

The second bonus feature is triggered when you receive 3 or more of the ‘Joker’ scatter symbol anywhere on the reels. When this happens you will be awarded 10, 20 or 30 free spins with a win multiplier of 2, 4 or 10 depending on the number of Joker scatter symbols you received.

Conclusion

Empire Fortune just doesn’t live up to the usual standard we’ve come to expect from Yggdrasil Gaming. The graphics aren’t quite as polished as their more recent releases, the bonus features are more mundane and the House Edge is significantly higher than the average range for slots being released today. All in all this is a game to avoid rather than look out for.
