The Faerie Spells slots game is produced by BetSoft. BetSoft are one of the smaller slot development companies on the market at the moment and have recently started offering their own casino platform. The company was founded in 2006, entering the slots market 4 years later. Betsoft do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Faerie Spells is 3.97%.
Faerie Spells plays over 5 reels, each one 3 symbols high and uses traditional paylines, of which there are a total of 10, playing from left to right.
Wild – The “Tree Face” is the game’s Wild symbol, substituting for all symbols other than the “Faerie Queen” and Scatters. The wild symbol is also the most valuable in the game. 3 wild symbols as part of a winning payline will pay out 5 times your bet; 4 wild symbols as part of a winning payline will pay out 20 times your bet; 5 wild symbols as part of a winning payline will pay out 100 times your bet.
Free Spins – The “Faerie Queen” is the game’s Free Spins symbol, with 3 or more needed to trigger the feature. The “Faerie Queen” symbol also releases the “Magic Toadstool” bonus prize.
Magic Toadstool – The “Magic Toadstool” symbols will reveal instant cash prizes if you land one on the same spin as a “Faerie Queen” symbol. They also act as normal symbols and will pay out as part of a winning payline.
Diamond – The “Diamond” symbol is a Scatter that is only available during the Free Spins feature. 1 “Diamond” will pay out x0.4 the bet; 2 “Diamond” symbols will pay out x1 the bet; 3 “Diamond” symbols will pay out x3 the bet; 4 “Diamond” symbols will pay out x10 the bet; and 5 “Diamond” symbols will pay out x50 the bet.
Each time you land a “Diamond” symbol it will explode and be replaced by other symbols on the reels, giving you another chance to win.
Jackpots – There are 4 jackpots available: The “Riches”, the “Wealth”, the “Luxury” and the “Plenty” jackpot. These jackpots can be triggered during the Free Spins feature by collecting the correct potions. You need 9 purple potions to trigger the “Riches” jackpot, 8 green potions to trigger the “Wealth” jackpot, 7 pink potions to trigger the “Luxury” jackpot and 7 yellow potions to trigger the “Plenty” jackpot.
Free Spins – The number of “Faerie Queen” symbols you land on a single spin will determine how many Free Spins you win. 3 will earn you 10 Free Spins, 4 will earn you 15 Free Spins and 5 will earn you 25 Free Spins.
During the Free Spins the reels will expand to 4 symbols high and will no longer operate using traditional paylines. Instead, you will be looking for symbol combinations across adjacent reels, with 1024 way available. There will also be an entirely new set of symbols made available during the feature.
Double Up – After any win you can risk what you have earned by pressing the Double Up button. You bet half or all of your winnings and will win or lose based on the toss of a coin. You can attempt to double up as often as you like.
Buy Feature – You can choose to jump straight to the Free Spins feature by paying 86 times your bet to play it. If you do so, you will be given 25 Free Spins and all the usual Free Spin features will apply.
Faerie Spells will take you on a spin through an enchanted forest, where faeries and tree people live amongst magical toadstools and a whole assortment of other fairy related icons. The game looks fantastic, with a richly colourful background and intricately detailed symbols. There is a whole host of features on offer too, with some seriously interesting variety within the Free Spins. The buy to play element in this game is very expensive to trigger, making it an enormous risk, one that you will have be prepared to lose if you take it on. The house edge for the game is a little higher than we like to see, meaning it could be offering better value for money. Still, this is a good game, one we would recommend you play if you can get a hold of it.
