The Gladiators game can be found at casinos offering Endorphina software. Endorphina are one of the newer casino software providers on the market but they have managed to gain distribution with some of the largest casino networks currently active within the market. As a standard Endorphina do publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help file or paytables. As a software provider not licensed in the UK, and as such not required to publish this information, this is a significantly player friendly practice. As such we can state that the Gladiators House Edge is 4.00%.
Gladiators is a 5 reel slots game and each reel is 3 symbols high. The game uses 21 paylines, playing from left to right.
Wild – The “Laurel Wreath” is the Wild symbol, replacing all symbols except Scatters.
Scatter – The “Shark” symbol is the game’s Scatter symbol and is needed to trigger the free spin feature.
“Seahorses” – The most valuable symbol is the “Seahorses”. 3 of the “Seahorses” symbols will award you 300 coins, 4 will award you 1500 coins and 5 will award you with 9000 coins.
Take Risk – Whilst you might not necessarily class this as a bonus feature, it does play a significant role in the gaming experience. With every win you get the chance to try and double your win by trying your luck in a game of “Play Your Cards Right” with the game’s dealer. If you can flip over a card that is higher than the one the dealer is showing you will double your win. Flip a card that is lower than the dealer’s and you lose the lot. This round continues until you either choose to stop gambling or you lose out to the dealer. In the result of a tie, no one wins.
Free Spins – 3 “Shark” symbols anywhere on the reels will award you with 10 free spins. 4 “Shark” symbols anywhere on the reels will award you with 20 free spins and 5 will award you with 50 free spins. All Free Spin wins are multiplied by 2. After each Free Spin a Gladiator is crowned the winner, determined by which symbol is the most populous on the reels. “Lauren Wreath” wild symbols will appear on top of the symbols and will remain there until a symbol with no gladiator on it lands on the same space.
Gladiators is a decent offering from Endorphina. The game looks OK, with some fun symbols adding colour to the reels. The theme is a little strange, in that the title makes no reference to the aquatic creatures that make up the symbols, but that doesn’t get in the way of what is clearly meant to be a bit of fun. The Free Spins feature is very entertaining, with the possibility of being awarded 50 free spins more than you’ll see in most other games. Re-spins are also welcome, as are the inclusion of wild symbols. More bonuses would always be welcomed and the house edge is a little above what we would consider to be the average.
