Gnome Wood Review

The Gnome Wood slots game can be found at Microgaming casinos. Microgaming as a standard now publish the slots house edge information of all their games at any online casino that holds a UKGC license (this is a requirement for all UKGC licensed casinos. As such we can say that the House Edge of Empress of the Gnome Wood is 3.37%. When playing at any venue that does not hold a UKGC license and does not specifically publish the Return to Player information for their game, this information should be used as a guideline only as we cannot confirm whether or not this game is configurable.

Venture down amongst the undergrowth to find secret treasures.

Gnome Wood is a 5 reel game with 25 paylines.

The ‘Wild’ and ‘Wild x2’ symbols are Wild and only appear on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.

There are 2 bonus features when playing Gnome Wood. The first bonus feature is triggered any time you receive one of the Wild symbols. When this happens, after you’ve been paid any wins generated by the spin, the Wild symbol will move one position to the left and the reels will respin. This process will repeat until the Wild symbol reaches reel 1 at which point the final respin will be triggered and the Wild symbol will be spun off the reels. This feature can be triggered multiple times if you receive additional Wild symbols during the respins.

The second bonus feature is activated when you receive 3 or more of the ‘Gold Coin’ scatter symbol anywhere on the reels. When this happens you will be awarded 10 free spins. Free spins can be retriggered. If the free spins are triggered during your Wild respins, the respins are completed before the free spins are played.

Closing Thoughts

There’s certainly nothing notably wrong with Gnome Wood. It has a beautiful interface, very reasonable House Edge and some fairly interesting bonus features. It could have offered a little more creativity with the bonus features, but it’s still a very worthy choice if you’re looking for a new game to try.
