Gold Rush Showdown Review

Your search returned no results.

Gold Rush Showdown slots game was produced by the Ash Gaming slots design company and is leased out by casinos using many different primary casino platforms. As a standard Ash Gaming do not include the house edge information of their slots games, however some casino do list this information in the game help files. It is not clear whether their games are configurable and as such you should treat the information in this review as a guideline only when playing at a casino that does not explicitly state the house edge they use.

You play Billy the Quid, come to a lawless town on the frontier to bring justice to the banditos that have been plaguing the residents for years. Test your steel against the whole posse and perhaps take out that illusive bastard, the bandit king!

This game is a 5 reel game, with 20 paylines and you can only bet 1 coin on each payline.

The ‘Bull’ symbol is wild.

There are three bonus features when playing Gold Rush Shootout. The first is activated when three or more of the ‘Prospector Pete’ symbol turn up anywhere on the reels. When this happens you will be taken to a map of the area surrounding the town. For each of the Prospector Pete symbols that you received, you get to choose one square of the map to search for gold. If you find gold, you get a prize.

The second bonus feature is activated when the ‘Billy the Quid’ symbol turns up on reel one and one or more of the ‘Bandito’ symbols turns up on the other reels. When this happens the Billy the Quid symbol expands to cover the whole of the first reel while the Bandito symbols start to move up and down rapidly as Billy tries to shoot them. For each Bandito that Billy manages to shoot you receive a prize.

The final bonus feature is activated when the Billy the Quid symbol turns up on reel one and the ‘Bandito King’ symbol lands on reel five. When this happens you are taken to a new screen where you will firstly enter a shootout with the Bandito gang. You can choose to let the computer do this for you or you can test your skill yourself. The shootout really isn’t that hard – especially with a mouse rather than a laptop touch pad – so you’re likely to get a larger return from playing yourself. For each Bandito you shoot you get a prize. After you’ve seen ten Banditos, the Bandito King turns up. This part of the bonus feature is automated – Billy shoots the Bandito King and then you are taken to a screen showing the loot that the Bandito King had on him. Amongst the loot you can find gold, emeralds, rubies and diamonds. If you find three diamonds amongst the look you win the progressive jackpot.

Closing Thoughts

Gold Rush Showdown is a fantastic game, with great bonus features, a skill element and a progressive jackpot there really is a lot to get excited about and with an average house edge that is likely to get lower as the jackpot gets higher, Gold Rush Showdown really is a great choice!
