Halloween Jack Slot Review

Released October 2018

The Halloween Jack slots game can be found at Net Entertainment casinos. Net Entertainment are one of the most established software providers on the market, being founded in 1996. Net Entertainment are a Swedish company but gained enough success to have offices all over the world. Net Entertainment do make the house edge information of their slots games available and this can be found in the help files of the game (usually accessed by pressing the ‘?’ button at the bottom left of the game window). As such, we can state that the House Edge for Halloween Jack is 3.72%.

Halloween Jack uses 20 paylines, playing from left to right.

Special Symbols

Wild – The “Halloween Jack” is the game’s Wild symbol, substituting for all symbols other than Free Spin “Chest” symbols. All wins with Wild symbols in them will pay out x3 the bet.

Free Spins – The “Chest” symbol is the game’s Free Spin trigger. You need to land 3 of them on a single spin to trigger 10 Free Spins.

Lantern – “Lantern” symbols are only available during the Free Spins feature. You collect these to unlock different Wild features.

Bonus Features

Walking Wild – Any time a Wild symbol is revealed on the reels it will trigger a free re-spin. The Wild symbol will then move one reel to the left and trigger another re-spin, continuing to do so until it leaves the reels at the left-hand side of the grid. More than one Wild symbol can appear on the reels. When this happens the re-spins will continue until all Wilds have left the grid. Wild symbols are also available in the Free Spins feature and will act in the same way, even when stacked.

Free Spins – 3 or more “Chest” symbols anywhere on the reels will trigger the Free Spins feature. After you reveal 2 “Chest” symbols, if there are still reels spinning, a green skeleton will appear at the bottom of the spinning reels in anticipation of you triggering the feature. If you do, green ghosts will waft their way from the top of the chests and the face will fill will a green face before your Free Spins begin. You will earn 10 Free Spins, with a chance to re-trigger the feature. If you can land 3 or more “Chest” symbols during the Free Spins you will earn an additional 5 re-trigger spins.

Jack O’Lector – During the Free Spins feature you can collect “Lantern” symbols when they are revealed on the 5th reel. Each time you collect one they are stored on the right-hand side of the screen and fill an empty skull symbol with fire. If you collect 3 “Lantern” symbols you will reveal the “Hell Hound” stacked Wild. If you collect 6 “Lantern” symbols then you will reveal the “Jack-O’-Lantern” stacked Wild. 9 “Lantern” symbols will reveal the “Death Reaper” Wild.

Halloween Jack is a welcome addition to the slots Halloween genre. The game looks great, with detailed symbols and background, along with animated symbols when certain features are triggered, or in the case of the Free Spins, close to triggering. The features we have are inventive and immersive, but I don’t think it would be too much to ask for an additional bonus feature to give us something else to shoot for in the main game. This said, the Walking Wild feature comes into play often and allows the game to feel as though there is always something going on. The additional Wilds during the Free Spins add some extra playability, and who doesn’t love a collect feature in a slots game? The house edge is average, meaning there are games offering more value for money but at the same time there are plenty that will offer less. Of the Halloween games to be released this year Halloween Jack is one of the better offerings and certainly wouldn’t be a waste of your time to investigate.
