The Honey Rush slot can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing provider in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slot games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slot games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Honey Rush is 4%.
The Honey Rush slot is made up of 6 reels that are laid out like a Honey Comb, which means that the reels are shorter at each end and tallest in the middle. Instead of paylines, you form clusters, needing combinations of 5 symbols or more that are adjacently connected. Each time you form a winning cluster, the symbols involved will disappear off the reels, with new symbols cascading down to take their place, giving you an additional chance to land a winning combination.
Wilds – The Wild symbol is the “Honey Pot”, which will substitute for all symbols and can come with a x2 or a x3 multiplier. Any time a Wild combines with other symbols to help form a winning combination it will stick in place for any cascades that result during that spin that it contributes wins to. Wild symbols are only added to reels as part of the Rush Meter Feature, which is described below.
Valuable Symbol – The most valuable symbol in the Honey Rush slot is the “Diamond”.
Rush Meter Feature – Each time you form a winning combination the number of symbols involved will be added to the meter. You will keep adding to that meter with subsequent cascades moving up levels as the meter fills, awarding additional features as you do so:
Level 1 is fully changed when you land 20 winning symbols. This triggers the Drone Colony before adding 1 sticky wild symbol to the grid.
Level 2 is fully charged when you land 40 winning symbols. This triggers the Drone Colony before adding 1 sticky wild symbol to the grid.
Level 3 is fully charged when you land 80 winning symbols. This triggers the Drone Colony before adding 1 sticky wild symbol to the grid.
Level 4 is fully charged when you land 160 winning symbols. This triggers the Queen Colony.
Drone Colony – When this is triggered a cluster of at least 7 symbols is added to the reels.
Worker Colony – When this is triggered a cluster between 7-15 symbols is added to the reels. The Worker Colony is not part of the Rush Meter feature and instead triggers at random after a non-winning spin.
Queen Colony – When this is triggered a cluster between 20-37 symbols is added to the reels.
Honey Rush is an excellent looking slot that fits in with the likes of Reactoons and Viking Ruins, in terms of the size and scope of it. Whilst you don’t get a huge number of features, the ones you do get are excellent. The cascades and the meters make each spin feel relevant, like something exciting is happening. In other words, this is not a slot that you are likely to find yourself bored with any time soon. You don’t get Free Spins and you only get Wilds after you trigger the first level on the Rush Meter, but despite that I honestly believe that the central features are enough to make this slot one you will enjoy playing.
