Hunt for Gold Slot Review

The Hunt for Gold game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing provider in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slots games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Hunt for Gold is 3%.

The Hunt for Gold game is made up of 5 reels, each one 3 symbols high. There are 5 paylines, playing from left to right and right to left.

Wild – There is no Wild symbol.

Scatter – The Scatter symbol is the “Treasure Chest”.

Bonus Features:

Scatter – If you reveal 5 of the “Treasure Chest” Scatter symbols you will trigger the game’s bonus feature. At this point you are taken to an old treasure map and have 4 sticks of dynamite to help you break open the chests in front of you. You can win up to 111 times your total bet on this bonus, but risk losing it all if you open the wrong chest. This bonus allows the player to stick when they are happy with their winnings.

Gamble – Winning lines can be gambled to gain an increased win. When you win you have the option to keep the win, try to double your win or try to treble it. If you want to double your win, you have to choose from 4 tiles. Two will win and two will lose you your bet. If you want to treble your win you need to choose between 3 tiles. One will win and two will lose you your bet. You can continue to double or treble your bet up to ten times in succession.

Golden Ring Jackpot – If you reveal 3 or more golden rings circling symbols across the reels then you trigger the game’s jackpot. 3 rings will trigger the “Tasty Jackpot” on the bronze wheel and a chance to win up to 15 times your bet. 4 rings will randomly trigger either the “Tasty Jackpot” or the “Luxury Jackpot” and a chance to win up to 60 times your bet on the silver wheel. 5 rings will randomly trigger either the “Luxury Jackpot” or the “Dream Chance Jackpot” and a chance to win up to 300 times your bet.

Conclusion

Hunt for Gold is offering nothing new but the repetition on offer here is well designed and fairly engaging. “The Gamble” and “Golden Ring” features on this game are completely identical to quite a few other Play ‘n Go games, who clearly feel that they’re onto a real winner with those particular bonuses. The one “different” bonus is essentially a rehashing of other familiar tile flipping bonuses. Despite the repeated formula the game is still worth a look, partly because it looks pretty good, partly because everyone loves a pirate and partly because the House Edge is better than your average.
