The Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx slot game can be found at Microgaming casinos. Microgaming as a standard now publish their slots’ house edge information at any online casino that holds a UKGC license (this is a requirement for all UKGC licensed casinos). They also ensure that this information can be found in the paytables of all of their slots. As such we can say that the House Edge of Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx is 3.9%. When playing at any venue that does not hold a UKGC license and does not specifically publish the Return to Player information for their game, this information should be used as a guideline only as we cannot confirm whether or not this game is configurable.
Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx is a 5 reel game that is 4 symbols high. The slot uses traditional paylines, with between 35 and 50 in total playing from left to right and right to left.
Special Symbols
Wild – The “Jungle Jim” is the Wild symbol, which will substitute for all other symbols other than Scatters and “Sphinx” Symbols. Wild symbols only appear on 2, 3 and 4 and every Wild that lands will expand to form a Wild reel and will award a re-spin.
Scatter – Scatter symbols pay out in combinations of 3 or more regardless of paylines and will also trigger the Free Spins feature. The Scatter symbol is the “Watch” and they are the most valuable symbols in the game. “Watch” symbols only appear in the base game.
Sphinx Symbols – These are only available during the Free Spins and only land on the middle reel. Each time one lands you collect it and when you do this, it will be removed and you will be granted an extra roll. You will also be granted an additional spin and the multiplier trail will increase to the next level where it will remain for the rest of the feature or until another Sphinx symbol occurs and you move further up the trail.
Bonus Features
Rolling Reels – After each win the symbols involved will disappear, with new symbols added to the reels from above. This process continues as long as you continue to form winning combinations with subsequent rolling reels.
Base Game Multiplier – With each rolling reel, the multiplier trail at the top of the reels will move one space to the right with all wins multiplied by the number displayed. When you get to 3 consecutive spins the number of paylines will increase from 35 to 50.
Second Chance Spin – If you get the 3rd Rolling Reel and are unsuccessful you will be given a respin, during which all the symbols will spin again.
Win Booster – If you press the Win Booster button to the side of the reels then you will increase your chances of triggering the Free Spins by unlocking an extra scatter. Essentially there will always be a Scatter in play, which means you only need to land 2 to trigger the feature. However, to do so will cost you your original bet, plus an additional bet that is 3 times the amount, all of which works out at 4 times what you would have planned to bet in the first place. It is very important to note that despite playing at 4 times the bet you will not rewarded at that level. In other words, when you press the button you are doing so in order to trigger the Free Spins more easily.
Free Spins – If you manage to successfully trigger the Free Spins then you will be awarded 12 in total. During the Free Spins there are 50 paylines on each spin and the multiplier trail begins at x2 the bet with the chance of it rising to 20 times the bet.
