The Lucky Fish game can be found at casinos offering Wazdan software. Wazdan is one of the better established software developers in the online gaming market having been in operation since 2010. Unlike many of the smaller casino software providers Wazdan offer a selection of casino table games featuring some of the major table games, with a strong focus on slots games. Wazdan do publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within their games. As such we can say that the House Edge for Lucky Fish is 3.5%.
Lucky Fish is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. The game does not use standard paylines, instead you form winning combinations when you land combinations of 3, 4 or 5 symbols across adjacent reels and playing from left to right. When you form a winning combination the symbols involved will disappear and the reels will cascade for an additional spin. This process will continue until you fail to land a winning combination.
Wild – The Wild symbol is the Goldfish, which will substitute for all symbols other than Mystery and Scatter symbols. Wild symbols do not have a value of their own and as such can only help form winning combinations when they work with other symbols.
Scatter/Free Spins – The “Crate” is the game’s Scatter symbol, which does not have any value. However, 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels will trigger the game’s Free Spins feature. 3 will award you 10 Free Spins, 4 will award 20 and 5 will award the maximum of 30 Free Spins.
Mystery – The Mystery symbol is the “Oyster”. The “Oyster” symbol will vary in value depending on how many you land. There are 3 value ranges and in order to trigger the top value you need to land 3 “Oyster” symbols on a ingle spin. Mystery symbols will not appear during cascades, but are available in both the base game and the Free Spins.
Free Spins – The Free Spins are triggered when you land 3 or more of the “Crate” symbols. The feature can be re-triggered.
Expanding Wilds Bonus – If only one Wild symbol lands on a non-winning spin then there is a random chance that up to 4 Wild symbols will be added to reels, replacing existing symbols, except Scatters. Mystery Symbols and Expanding Wilds cannot be awarded at the same time.
Gamble – Once you have landed a winning payline you can choose to gamble your winnings in an attempt to double them. When this happens you will have to choose between red or black cards, trying to guess which colour will be pulled from the pack. Guess correctly and you double your bet. Get it wrong and you lose the lot.
Despite looking like a fairly uninspiring slot game, Lucky Fish actually delivers on a number of levels. You get Free Spins that can be re-triggered and there are plenty of them. You get mystery symbols and expanding wilds. And as such, if you could the mystery feature as a bonus then Lucky Fish ticks all of the basic boxes. It also has a house edge that is offering good value for money. So, despite not looking that great, this is a game I would recommend and believe is worth checking out.
