Mines of Gold Slot Review

Released July 2019

The Mines of Gold slots game can be found at casinos offering Spinomenal software. Spinomenal is one of the newer software developers in the online gaming market. Alongside many of the smaller casino software providers Spinomenal focus heavily on slots games. The House Edge/RTP of the Spinomenal slots games is listed within the paytable for the newer games in their catalogue. However, these have been known to change, which means that the house edge we publish will be the one that was listed at the time of writing this review. For the older games, as Spinomenal is partnered with UK licensed operators and the UKGC license requires the publication of this information, RTP figures can be found on numerous casino sites. As such, we know that the house edge for Mines of Gold is 4.94%.

Mines of Gold is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. The game uses 25 standard paylines, playing from left to right.

Special Symbols

Wilds – Wild symbols will substitute for all symbols other than the Bonus. 5 Wild symbols as part of a winning payline will pay out 60 times the bet.

Bonus – The Bonus symbol is the “Bonus Wheel”. You need these to allow you to trigger the game’s Bonus.

Bonus Features

Extra Wilds – Whilst the reels are spinning, up to 8 Wild symbols may be added to the reels at random. Wild symbols may come with a multiplier worth 2 or 3 times the bet.

Win Multiplier – During a spin a Win multiplier may be added to the reels. This happens at random and can be worth x2, x3, x4 or x5 the bet. This is only available during the main game.

Bonus Game – Whenever a Bonus symbol appears on a reel it will light it. To trigger the bonus game you need to light all 5 reels on a single spin. When a Bonus reel lights it’s value will be saved, then the average amount for all 5 reels will be used as a base multiplier in the Bonus round. It will also be used as the bet value for the Free Spins if you trigger them during the Bonus game.

You get 3 spins of the Bonus Wheel if you can trigger it. On each spin you have the chance to multiply your bet or win a number of Free Spins.

Re-Spin Feature – During the Free Spins, any winning combination will trigger a re-spin. All winning symbols will remain in place whilst all other symbols are replaced. If new symbols contribute to additional wins then the re-spin feature will trigger again. The process continues until no new wins are formed.

Conclusion

Mines of Gold is a slot that fans of some of Spinomenal’s most recent output might be familiar with. For example, if you’ve played Lemur Does Vegas, then strictly speaking, you’ve played Mines of Gold too. The difference between the two games is simply a matter of aesthetics, and if I’m being honest I prefer how Lemur Does Vegas looks to this. The theme you have here is about mining and being rich as a result of it, something that is in my opinion, nowhere near as interesting as Lemur in a pinstriped suit playing the tables in Vegas. In short, it is a solid game but it is offering little you won’t have seen before and the house edge is much higher than you want it to be.
