Moirai Blaze Slot Review

The Moirai Blaze slot game can be found at casinos offering Iron Dog software. Iron Dog are one of the smaller software providers currently on the market, but the appear to be a subsidiary of the far larger and better established 1x2Gaming. They do not offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Iron Dog do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game paytable. As such we know that the house edge for Moirai Blaze is 4%.

Moirai Blaze is made played on a 7×7 grid. There are no paylines, instead winning combinations are made when five for more identical symbols connect adjacently, but not diagonally. After a win the symbols involved will disappear and new symbols will drop down in their place giving you another chance to win on the same spin.

Special Symbols:

Wild – The pink orb with the doubled edged gold star in the centre is Wild, substituting for all other symbols excluding any feature symbols.

Replacer – The pink orb without any shape in the centre is known as the “Replacer” symbol. The “Replacer” changes all symbols in a diagonal cross with a set of randomly selected identical shapes or it will change all of one type of symbol on the grid to another.

Exploder – The gold orb with the star in the centre is known as the “Exploder” symbol. The “Exploder will either destroy all symbols in a cross or a diagonal, or it will destroy all of a randomly selected symbol. After one of these functions has been performed the “Exploder” will be replaced by a Wild symbol.

“Ganesha Powerball” – The gold orb with the pink star is known as the “Ganesha Powerball”. This symbol is only available on free spins and when it is revealed it will award the player an additional free spin.

Bonus Features:

Free Spins – To activate the Free Spin feature you need to remove 100 or more symbols on a single spin. When you do this, you will be awarded 15 free spins. On the left-hand side of the grid there is a panel that records when you reveal an “Exploder” symbol, a “Replacer” symbol and a “Ganesha Powerball” symbol. You can collect one “Exploder”, one “Replacer” and two “Ganesha Powerballs” and on the fifteenth and final spin all collected symbols will be placed back in the grid.

Conclusion

Moirai Blaze is not your traditional slots game. The huge 7x7 grid makes the game feel much bigger than a standard 5 or 3-reel game. The interface looks relatively pretty, but also feels cobbled together, as if everything you’re looking at on the screen is a separate piece in a jigsaw, opposed to one seamless graphic. The symbols all look very similar, making it quite difficult to pick one out from another. The theme is based on the Hindu festival of Diwali, a light and firework extravaganza that takes place in autumn every year. The festival celebrates the victory of light over dark and good versus evil and would naturally be a fantastic option for a slots game. However, the game fails to take full advantage of the rich celebration, as there are no animations or bonus features to help bring the festival to life. The free spins are a welcome addition, as are the re-spins, I also really like being able to gather symbols for a big hit on your final spin. The house edge is sitting just above what we would consider to be average, meaning that this game offers some value but can be bettered with a little shopping around.
