Monster Smash Slot Review

The Monster Smash game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing provider in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slots games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Monster Smash is 3%.

The Monster Smash game is made up of 5 reels, each one 3 symbols high. There are 20 paylines, playing from left to right.

Wild – There is no Wild symbol.

Scatter – The Scatter symbol is the crossed “Baseball Bats”.

Bonus Features:

Scatter – If you reveal 3 of the crossed “Baseball Bats” symbols you will trigger the game’s Scatter bonus. Landing 3 will multiply the bet by 2; 4 will multiply the bet by 5; and 5 “Baseball Bat” symbols will multiply the bet by 25. Additionally, if you land a Scatter on reels 1,2 and 3 you will gain the Tropical Bonus. If you land on reels 3,4 and 5 you will gain the Monster bonus and if you land “Baseball Bat” symbols on all 5 reels you will win the Tropical and the Monster Bonuses.

Here. We. Go. – To trigger this bonus you need to reveal the “Here” symbol on reel 1, the “We” symbol on reel 3 and the “Go” symbol on reel 5. When you do this, you arm your monsters with weapons, allowing Monster symbols to bash adjacent melon symbols and increase your win. This happens over the course of 5 bonus spins, which can be re-triggered up to 100 times.

Gamble – Winning lines can be gambled to gain an increased win. When you win you have the option to keep the win, to double IT, or to try and treble it. If you want to double your win, you have to choose from 4 tiles. Two will win and two will lose you your bet. If you want to treble your win you need to choose between 3 tiles. One will win and two will lose you your bet. You can continue to double or treble your bet up to ten times in succession.

Golden Ring Jackpot – If you reveal 3 or more golden rings circling symbols across the reels then you trigger the game’s jackpot. 3 rings will trigger the “Tasty Jackpot” on the bronze wheel and a chance to win up to 15 times your bet. 4 rings will randomly trigger either the “Tasty Jackpot” or the “Luxury Jackpot” and a chance to win up to 60 times your bet on the silver wheel. 5 rings will randomly trigger either the “Luxury Jackpot” or the “Dream Chance Jackpot” and a chance to win up to 300 times your bet.

Conclusion

Despite not having any wild symbols in the game, Monster Smash does not suffer in the same way that many other games might without them. There are enough additional features to keep you engaged, with the “Here. We. Go.” bonus being particularly good fun. There’s just something so satisfying about seeing the previously dormant monster symbols suddenly spring into life and start smashing lumps out of adjacent melons. The game looks good, not brilliant, but good. The “Gamble” feature means you’re never more than a few spins away from something a little more interesting than just pushing the spin button, although it does mean you’re also never too far away from losing your win. The House Edge is a very reasonable 3%, which makes this game not only entertaining but also decent value for money.
