The Mystery Reels Mega Ways game can be found at casinos offering Red Tiger software. Red Tiger is a relatively new software developer in the online gaming market, having only been in operation since 2014. Red Tiger focus primarily on slots games but do offer a few table games, albeit a very limited range of them. In compliance with UK gaming legislation, Red Tiger publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within their pay tables. As such, we can say that the House Edge for Mystery Reels Mega Ways is 3.82%.
Mystery Reels Mega Ways is a 6 reel game that varies between 2 and 7 symbols high, the amount changing at random. The game does not use paylines, instead you form wins by landing combinations of 3 or more identical symbols across the reels starting with the leftmost reel. The one exception to this being the “7” symbol that will form wins with only two identical symbols across the first two reels from the leftmost side.
Special Symbols
Mystery Symbol – The Mystery Symbol will appear on the reels as a “Golden Apple” with a question mark in the centre. Once the reels have stopped spinning it will transform into a standard symbol and clone itself a random number of times, moving across the reels as it does so.
Free Spins – The Free Spins symbol is the “Roulette Wheel”. Three or more of them will trigger the feature.
High Paying Symbol –The highest paying symbol in the game is the “7” symbol. The “7” symbol will pay out 5 times the bet if you can land 3 as part of a winning payline, 10 times the bet if you can land 4 as part of a winning payline, 25 times the bet if you can land 5 as part of a winning payline and 50 times the bet if you can land 6 as part of a winning payline.
Features
Free Spins – Once you have triggered the Free Spins feature by landing 3 or more of the “Roulette Wheel” symbols anywhere on the reels you will spin a reel to decide how many Free Spins you are awarded with. You can win up to 20 Free Spins on a single spin and you can gamble what you have won and spin the reel again to add more, risking what you have won already.
Conclusion
I feel as though Red Tiger have been spoiling us recently with the quality of their releases, which meant that a lot was expected of Mystery Reels Mega Ways before I wrote this review. Is it a bad game? No. Is it disappointing? Yes. The game looks as good as any fruit based game that I’ve seen but any fruit based game that I’ve seen has always left me a little underwhelmed. There are Free Spins, but no Wilds and no Bonus. And it is the lack of a Bonus feature that disappoints the most, given just how incredible the ones on Pirates’ Plenty and Easter Lucky are. However, this is still a solid offering with a few features that are good. I like the mystery symbol and the Free Spin Roulette is fun, but a little dangerous. The house edge is roughly what we have grown to expect from Red Tiger, a game offering some, but not lots of value for money. If you like simple fruit based games and you’re needing something new then check this out. If you’re easily bored by slots games it might be best not to waste your time.
