Nights of Egypt Slot Review

Released August 2019

The Nights of Egypt slots game can be found at casinos offering Spinomenal software. Spinomenal is one of the newer software developers in the online gaming market. Alongside many of the smaller casino software providers Spinomenal focus heavily on slots games. The House Edge/RTP of the Spinomenal slots games is listed within the paytable for the newer games in their catalogue. However, these have been known to change, which means that the house edge we publish will be the one that was listed at the time of writing this review. For the older games, as Spinomenal is partnered with UK licensed operators and the UKGC license requires the publication of this information, RTP figures can be found on numerous casino sites. As such, we know that the house edge for Nights of Egypt is 4.84%.

Nights of Egypt is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. The game uses 25 standard paylines, playing from left to right.

Special Symbols

Wilds – The Wild symbol is the “Egyptian Queen”. Wild symbols will substitute for all symbols other than the Bonus and Free Spins. 5 Wild symbols as part of a winning payline will pay out 200 times the bet.

Bonus – The Bonus symbol is the “Book”. You need to land three of these anywhere on the reels at once to trigger the slot Bonus.

Free Spins – The “Eclipse” symbol is the Free Spins symbol. Three or more of them anywhere on the reels will trigger the slot Free Spins.

Bonus Features

Free Spins – 3 or more Free Spins symbols will give you a chance to Spin the Free Spins wheel, which will determine how many Free Spins you get. You can gain anywhere between 10 and 40 Free Spins. The wheel will also determine a random medium symbol that will become double, which means that when one appears it is considered 2 symbols, making it easier to form winning combinations.

Bonus Game – Triggering the feature will gain you 5 Bonus spins. There is a meter in the game and you fill it by landing scatter combinations of symbols (so paylines are not needed during the bonus). Every 4 matching symbols will fill a bar on the meter and increase your win. You can also collect “Plus 1 Spins” symbols, which will increase the number of Bonus Spins that you have by 1.

Stacked Wilds – This is a random feature. Whilst the reels are spinning, there is a chance that landing Wilds will turn fully stacked and fill the reels.

Only Double Symbols – This is a random feature. Whilst the reels are spinning there is a chance that symbols will turn double, meaning that 2 of them will appear where there is normally only 1 and increase the chances of you forming a winning combination.

Buy Feature – Nights of Egypt allows you to skip straight to the Free Spins feature but you will have to pay to do so. The amount paid works out at 38 times the bet, and as such the cost of doing so must always be considered before you choose to play.

Nights of Egypt is a decent looking slot that takes up where Majestic King left off. I say that because other than the design, the two games are identical. Having said that, the symbols do look good, as does the slot’s background. You get your usual plethora of features, from Free Spins to a Bonus game, along with a couple of random features. Your Free Spins come with an added little kicker too, making this a slot that has plenty to offer. The pay to play option is also a welcome addition, but the price of playing must be considered before doing so. My only criticism turns out to be exactly the same as the one I had for Majestic King. Yet again, Spinomenal have set a house edge that is much higher than I would ideally like to see, meaning despite all the positives this isn’t a game offering a whole lot of value for money.
