The Panda’s Run game can be found at casinos offering Tom Horn software. Tom Horn is a relatively new software developer in the online gaming market, having only been in operation since 2016. Tom Horn focus primarily on slots games with no table games as of yet. In compliance with UK gaming legislation, Tom Horn publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within their pay tables. As such, we can say that the House Edge for Panda’s Run is 4.26%.
Panda’s Run is a 5 reel game that is 4 symbols high. The game uses traditional paylines, with 40 in total, playing from left to right.
Wilds – The Wild symbol is “Temple” and will substitute for all symbols other than Scatters. 3 as part of a winning payline will pay out 50 times the bet; 4 will pay out 200 times the bet and 5 will pay out 1000 times the bet.
High Paying Symbols – The highest paying standard symbols (not the Wild) in the game are the “Panda” symbols. 3 as part of a winning payline will pay out 25 times the bet, 4 will pay out 100 times the bet and 5 will pay out 5000 times the bet.
Scatter – The Scatter symbol is the “Golden Tortoise”. 3 of them anywhere on the reels will pay out twice the bet and award 5 Free Spins. The symbol only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4.
Free Spins – There are 5 Free Spins available if you can land 3 of the Scatter symbols across reels 2,3 and 4. The Free Spins can be re-triggered.
Gamble Feature - After every win if you have not reached your gamble limit, you will be presented with the gamble button in the game window. You can choose to collect your win or gamble them to double the amount. If you choose to gamble, a screen with a face down poker deck will appear. You will have to guess if the card is black or red. If you choose correctly your win will be doubled. If you choose incorrectly you will lose your winnings. There is also an option to only gamble half your win which would work in the same with less being risked.
Panda’s Run is a great looking game with symbols that are well designed to bring out the best in China’s national animal. You get plenty of paylines to play across, something you can reduce if you want to lower your bet. There are free spins and wilds and the free spins can be re-triggered. Other than that there are no features for me to mention, other than the Gamble option that appears every time you land a win. The house edge for this game is much higher than we would ideally want it to be, sitting significantly above 4%, meaning it is not offering the sort of value for money that we want to see in a slots game.
