The Perfect Gems game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing providers in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slots games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Perfect Gems is 4%.
The Perfect Gems game has 6 reels and each reel is 4 symbols high. The game does not use paylines, instead you for wins when you land matching symbols across adjacent reels. In most instances you need 3 symbols to form a win, with the exception of the “Blue Gem” that only needs 2.
Cascades – The game uses cascades, meaning that every time you form a winning combination the symbols that formed that win will disappear, symbols will drop down in their place and new symbols will be added to the reels where necessary. If you form a subsequent win another cascade will form and each time you do so the multiplier in the top left of the reels will increase and be applied to any resulting wins. Once you fail to form a win the multiplier will re-set. You take whatever multiplier is in play into your Free Spins game with you at the time that the feature is triggered.
Special Symbols
Valuable Symbol – The game’s most valuable symbol is the “Blue Gem”, which will return the bet if you can land a combination of 2 across adjacent reels.
Wild – The Wild symbol will substitute for all symbols other than the Scatters.
Perfect Scatter – The “Perfect Scatter” symbol is mainly gold with a small diamond centre. Three or more of them anywhere on the reels at once will trigger the game’s Free Spins feature.
Spin Scatter – The “Spin Scatter” symbol looks like the “Perfect Scatter” symbol, except more of the diamond is exposed. The symbol is also only available during Free Spins and if you land one it will earn you an additional 2 Free Spins.
Features
Splitting Symbols – At any point in the game the number of symbols between reels 2-5 can change. Reels 2-5 can have up to 7 symbols in them whilst reels 1 and 6 remain on 3 for the entire game. The number of reels between 2-5 is determined at random during each separate spin. This will, in turn, increase the number of win ways available.
Free Spins – 3 or more “Perfect Spins” symbols anywhere on the reels will trigger the Free Spins feature. 3, 4, 5 or 6 “Perfect Spins” symbols will award 9, 15, 21 or 27 Free Spins respectively.
