Power Plant Slot Review

Released: April 2017

The Power Plant slots game is produced by Yggdrasil Gaming. Yggdrasil Gaming take their name from Norse mythology where Yggdrasil is a magical tree where dragons lived and Odin sacrificed himself. Yggdrasil Gaming are one of the smaller slot development companies on the market at the moment – with a strong focus on the development of slots games – but have gained a strong portfolio of clients and are now branching out to round out their games offerings with other types of casino games. They lease their games out to casinos using other platforms as a bolt on package. Yggdrasil Gaming publish the Return to Player/House Edge of their slots games within the game help file. The House Edge of Power Plant is 3.90%.

Are you in need of an energy boost?

The Power Plant game has 5 reels with 82 paylines and you can bet one coin per payline. Each reel is 8 symbols high.

The ‘W’ symbol is Wild.

There is only one bonus feature when playing Power Plant and it is triggered when you receive a full stack on W Wild symbols covering any reel. When this happens you will trigger a respin. The number of Wild reels that triggered the respin will define the different bonus features included with the respin. One reel awards two features, two reels is three features and three or more reels awards four features. The bonus features are as defined below:

- 3-8 randomly selected symbols are replaced with the same symbol that would generate a win.

- One symbol is randomly selected and stacked in larger numbers.

- Up to 4 reel nudges will be applied to maximise your win.

- One symbol is selected and acts as a Wild symbol for the duration of the respin.

- You receive an additional feature.

Once your features have been randomly selected you will receive your free respin. During the respin the Wild reels that triggered the respin will remain locked in place.

Conclusion

Power Plant just does not live up to the standards that Yggdrasil Gaming have set with so many other releases. Visually Yggdrasil Gaming have done the usual good job, and the House Edge isn’t terrible – though still approaching the upper end of the range being used by most new release slots games today – but the bonus feature just isn’t all that exciting. A free spin with a few extra features. We’ve seen this on lots of other games and the extra high reels don’t make up for the lack of originality.
