The Richie in Vegas slot game can be found at casinos offering Iron Dog software. Iron Dog are one of the smaller software providers currently on the market, but the appear to be a subsidiary of the far larger and better established 1x2Gaming. They do not offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Iron Dog do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game paytable. As such we know that the house edge for Richie in Vegas is 3.76%.
The Richie in Vegas slot consists of 5 reels, 3 symbols high. The game uses traditional paylines, with 20 in total playing from left to right.
Wild – The Wild symbol will substitute for all paying symbols, automatically doing so for the highest paying option. Wilds will not contribute to the Jackpot Richie win count.
Expanding Wild – Expanding Wilds will initially appear on the very top symbol space on a reel before expanding to fill the reel. They work in the same way as a standard Wild. Up to 5 Expanding Wild symbols can appear on the reels at once.
Wheel of Chance – The Wheel of Chance symbol can only appear on the third reel. When it does appear you will have the chance to take a spin on the Wheel of Chance. When you spin the Wheel you have the chance to win cash prizes, Wilds, Expanding Wilds or 6 Free Spins. Once the Wheel of Chance symbol has stopped spinning and revealed its prize it will turn into a Wild symbol. It is worth noting that there are empty symbols on the Wheel of Chance, meaning you could win nothing.
Jackpot Richie – The Jackpot Richie symbol only appears during the Free Spins feature. 5 Jackpot Richie symbols anywhere on the reels during the Free Spins will pay out 2000x the bet. They also work in combination with standard Richie symbols, but will only payout the standard Richie symbol value.
Free Spins – If you land the Free Spins option on the Wheel of Chance you will be awarded 6 Free Spins. During the feature the Wheel of Chance will spin during each of the Free Spins. There are three levels of Wheel available during the Free Spins, each level offering better prizes:
Wheel of Chance Level 1 Wheel – You can win multipliers, up to 80x the bet, 2 to 3 additional Wilds, 1 or 2 Expanding Wilds, 3 additional Free Spins or you can upgrade to the next Wheel level and gain one additional spin. There is also the chance that you will win nothing as there are blank spaces on the Wheel.
Wheel of Chance Level 2 - You can win multipliers, up to 160x the bet, 4 to 6 additional Wilds, 2 to 4 Expanding Wilds, 3 additional Free Spins or you can upgrade to the next Wheel level and gain one additional spin. There is also the chance that you will win nothing as there are blank spaces on the Wheel.
Wheel of Chance Level 3 - You can win multipliers, up to 1000x the bet, 6 to 8 additional Wilds, 3 to 5 Expanding Wilds or 3 additional Free Spins. There is also the chance that you will win nothing as there are blank spaces on the Wheel.
Richie in Vegas has been a long time coming from Iron Dog. Being only their second release of the year there has been a degree of anticipation surrounding this slot. In the end we have been given a slot that looks OK, but then aesthetics have never been Iron Dog’s forte. As for the features, you get one bonus, which is needed to trigger the Free Spins and you get Wilds. In all honesty there isn’t as much going on here as we’ve seen in previous releases. However, the house edge is reasonable, meaning the slot is offering some value for money.
