Riddle Reels: A Case of Riches Slot Review

Released July 2020

The Riddle Reels: A Case of Riches game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing provider in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slots games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Riddle Reels: A Case of Riches is 3.78%.

Theme – This slot is very reminiscent of a well-known and extremely popular classic board game. The goal of this slot is to hit the Bonus feature and then solve the case. Like the board game mentioned you pick up clues in this part of the slot in an attempt to do so, which will result in you hitting the Jackpot. Add a Sherlock Holmes kind of character and you have a slot that is all about cracking the case.

Riddle Reels: A Case of Riches is a 3 reel slot and each reel is 3 symbols in height. There are 9 paylines in total, playing from left to right.

Special Symbols

Wild – The Wild symbol is the “Detectives”, which will substitute for all symbols other than Scatters. Some Wilds can come with a 2x or a 3x multiplier.

Scatter – The “Question Mark” is the game’s Scatter symbol. Three or more Scatter symbols will trigger the game’s Bonus feature. However, 2 Scatters will award you a respin on the reel that is missing the necessary symbol to trigger the feature. If that extra spin lands a Scatter you will trigger the feature as normal and if it does not the reels with 2 Scatters become fully stacked Mystery symbols.

Mystery – Mystery symbols are only available following a respin that fails to trigger the Bonus feature. When they land they will all spin around to reveal identical symbols, which you need to hope match one or more of the remaining symbols on the reels.

Bonus Features

Case of Riches Bonus Feature – If you trigger the Case of Riches Bonus Feature then you will be taken to a new set of reels with a board surrounding them. You are given 4 rolls of a dice and will take your detective character around the board with each roll. When he lands on a space a case will be set that you need to solve. You will be given a goal, such as land 2 wins in a row in 2 spins. The difficulty of the task will be measured and you will receive points for completing the task. Those points are then added to a meter and when the feature ends you will spin the wheel on the meter in an effort to win the Mega Spin.

Clue Points Wheel – The meter for the Case of Riches Bonus is called the Clue Points wheel. As you solve clues a blue bar will begin to fill around the wheel. Once the feature ends you will spin the wheel and if you land on the blue bar you will trigger a Mega Spin.

Mega Spin – If you trigger the Mega Spin then the middle reel will fill with Wilds that can come with a multiplier , up to 3x the bet, along with 2 fully stacked reels containing either the sae suspect or weapon.

Conclusion

Riddle Reels: A Case of Riches might only be a 3 reeled slot but I’m going out on a limb and saying it might be a contender for most innovative slot of 2020. Don’t get we totally wrong, outside of that Bonus feature there really isn’t all that much to get excited about. However, if you can trigger it then you will get to see the designers at Play & Go working their magic. You play a version of Cluedo, where you have small tasks to complete that, if successful, will allow you to land the big win at the end. The house edge is good and you wilds can come with multipliers. There isn’t much not to like about this one.
