The Rise of Olympus game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing providers in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slots games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Rise of Olympus is 4%.
The Rise of Olympus game uses a 5x5 grid. There are no paylines, instead winning combinations are secured when 3 or more symbols match up, combining vertical and horizontal matches. Winning symbols will disappear and all other symbols will drop down and fill up with new symbols. If more matches are made, winning symbols will continue to drop.
The Gods can combine separately for larger wins or together for smaller ones. Any 3 of the same god will multiply the bet by 0.6, any 4 will multiply the bet by 2 and any 5 will multiply the bet by 20. Any combination of 3, involving a mix of gods will multiply the bet by 0.4, any combination of 4, involving a mixture of gods will multiply the bet by 1 and any combination of 5, involving different gods will multiply the bet by 10.
Wild – The Wild symbols is the “Pegasus Coin”, substituting for all symbols. The “Pegasus Coin” also multiplies the bet by 2 when you reveal 3 of them, 6 when you reveal 4 and 100 if you manage to reveal 5 “Pegasus Coin” symbols.
Bonus Features:
Hand of God – This bonus feature is randomly triggered on non-winning spins. When it happens one of the three gods will perform their special power, as described below:
Hades will transform one set of symbols into another.
Poseidon will make up to two Wild “Pegasus Coin” symbols appear randomly on the grid.
Zeus will destroy two sets of symbols, chosen entirely at random.
Wrath of Olympus - On the left of the screen there is a meter containing 3 sections. Fully charging the meter will activate the “Wrath of Olympus” feature. In order to fill the meter you need to win with god symbols. To fill up one section of the meter you need win with a combination of 3 god symbols. To fill 2 sections of the meter you need to win with a combination of 4 god symbols. To fill all 3 sections of the meter you need to win with a combination of 5 god symbols. When the meter is full, all three of the Girl Power features will trigger at once.
Free Spins – To trigger free spins you have to clear the entire grid of symbols. When you do so you will be able to choose between 3 different Free Spin Options:
Hades – The God of the underworld will give you 4 free spins and gives 4 re-spins every time you fully recharge the meter.
Poseidon – The God of the Seas will give you 5 free spins with 3 re-spins every time you fully recharge the meter.
Zeus – The God of Sky and Thunder will give you 6 free spins with 2 re-spins every time you fully recharge the meter.
You can receive up to a maximum of 20 re-spins on any of the Free Spin options. You can win up to 200 coins by clearing the grid during the Free Spins feature. The “Wrath of Olympus” feature is not active during the Free Spins.
This recent offering from Play ‘n Go is a Herculean effort that flips the lid off Pandora’s Box every time you click the shiny green spin button. The game looks incredible, taking full advantage of a theme that can often be a serious left-down in the slots world. Each time you refill the grid, the plinky plonky guitar sounds are cast aside by audible testosterone. Winning combinations are met with power cords and the rising tension is echoed through increased drumming and orchestration, as we mere mortals prepare for celestial combat. If you’ve ever played Play ‘n Go’s “Moon Princess” you’ll be familiar with just about every feature in this game, the only difference being that each one is re-packaged and re-imagined with added 6-pack and roid-rage. Don’t come here if you’re easily body shamed because the Greek Gods have not been squandering their gym subscriptions. Along with looking buff, the game has some seriously cool features. It always feels like something is happening, with symbols replacing other symbols, lightening-bolts tearing their way through the grid, fireballs igniting tridents, harps and helmets, and animated sequences that will be sure to keep you engaged for some time. There are free spins and re-spins, there’s even a chance to win when you’ve not won. If the game has an Achilles’ heel, it would be that the house edge is slightly above the average, but 4% appears to be the standard now for Play ‘n Go, so it’s no real surprise.
