The Secret Potion slots game can be found at casinos offering Spinomenal software. Spinomenal is one of the newer software developers in the online gaming market. Alongside many of the smaller casino software providers Spinomenal focus heavily on slots games. The House Edge/RTP of the Spinomenal slots games is listed within the paytable for the newer games in their catalogue. For the older games, as Spinomenal is partnered with UK licensed operators and the UKGC license requires the publication of this information, RTP figures can be found on numerous casino sites. As such, we know that the house edge for Secret Potion is 8.13%.
Secret Potion is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. The game uses 25 paylines, playing from left to right.
Special Symbols
Wild – There are various Wild symbols but they are easy to spot as they all have Wild written on them at the bottom of the symbol. Wilds will substitute for all symbols except Free Spins and “Beaker” symbols.
Free Spins– The Free Spins symbol is the “Running Wheel”, which will trigger the Free Spins feature when you land three or more of them anywhere on the reels. 3 or more “Running Wheel” symbols will multiply the bet by x3 and will earn you 10 free spins.
Bonus Features
Extra Wilds – At the right-hand side of the screen there is a meter. You fill up the meter every time you land a “Beaker” symbol. The idea appears to be that the potions are being consumed by the creatures in the game and they are gaining more powers as they do so. As the meter fills it begins to unlock different Wild symbols and will turn medium symbols Wild. When the meter is full there will be an additional 3 Wild symbols that can be used in the same way as a normal wild, substituting for all symbols other than Free Spins and “Beakers”.
Conclusion
Secret Potions is a take on the mysteries of the mad scientist, who creates weird and wonderful potions that he uses to give people, or in this case animals special powers; like super strength, good looks or extra intelligence. There are potions, lab rats and the mad scientist himself, all adding to what amounts to a fun looking game, filled with colour and cartoon characters. The symbols look good as does the background but there is little more in terms of aesthetics to really comment on here. The game could have done much more with the theme by offering some animated sequences or even giving us an immersive bonus game. There are free spins and wilds and the meter that boosts the number of wilds that can appear is a nice touch, but one that should have been complimentary to a bonus round not instead of one. The game’s biggest failing is its house edge which is over double what we would expect to see from a slots game. The poor value for money on offer here makes Secret Potion a game we simply cannot recommend you play.
