Spin and Spell Slot Review

Released October 2019

The Spin and Spell slots game can be found at casinos using BGaming software. BGaming is one of the newer software developers in the online gaming market. Unlike many of the smaller casino software providers BGaming offer a relatively complete suite of casino games featuring most of the major table games (other than Craps which isn't particularly popular online) and even a Video Poker game. The company is operated by the same team responsible for the SoftSwiss casino platform and Direx N.V. license. BGaming do not always publish the slots house edge information of all their games, but have done is this instance and as such we know that the house edge for Spin and Spell is 4.2%.

Spin and Spell is a 5 reel slots game that is 3 symbols high. The game uses standard paylines, with 20 in total, playing from left to right.

Special Symbols

Valuable Symbol – The most valuable standard symbol in is any of the 3 “Witch” symbols.

Wild – The “Vamp” is the Wild symbol, which will substitute for all symbols other than scatters. The “Vamp” symbol is also the most valuable in the slot, meaning it can pay out as part of winning combination with other symbols or independently.

Scatter – The “Castle” is the Scatter symbol, which will pay out in combinations of 3 or more regardless of paylines. The “Castle” symbol will also trigger the Free Spins feature if you can land 3 or more of them.

Bonus Features

Free Spins – The number of triggering symbols will not alter the number of Free Spins that you are awarded, which cannot exceed 10 in total. You can re-trigger the feature. During the Free Spins the Wild “Vamp” symbol will always expand to fill the reel it lands on.

Bonus – After every win you have the change to play a bonus game. You can gable your winnings by guessing which eyeball you think will remain unburst in the caldron. There are 6 eyes, 3 will burst and 3 will remain intact. Choose one that does not burst and you will have you bet doubled. You can continue to do this for as many guesses as you like or choose to end the feature whenever you like, but the feature will end automatically as soon as you fail to guess correctly.

Conclusion

This is another well-designed slot from the developers at BGaming. It looks great and comes with a few interesting, but ultimately simple features. You get Free Spins and Wilds. The Free Spins can be re-triggered and Wilds will always expand to fill the reels during the feature. The bonus feature is really just a gamble feature, one that I am pained to actually call a bonus feature. The house edge is a little higher then we would have hoped for, resigning this slot to relative mediocrity.
