Sugar Pop Slot Review

The Sugar Pop slots game is produced by BetSoft. BetSoft are one of the smaller slot development companies on the market at the moment and have recently started offering their own casino platform. BetSoft do not publish their slots house edge information. However Tropezia Palace has agreed to provide information on all BetSoft games. When playing with BetSoft at a casino that does not publish this information, the figures in this review should be treated as a guideline only – we cannot confirm whether this game is configurable.

Have you got a sweet tooth?

This game is a 5 reel game, with non-traditional paylines.

Rather than using standard paylines, Sugar Pop use a 5×5 grid of symbols. Where three or more matching symbols are connected either horizontally or vertically this constitutes a win, with more connecting symbols awarding bigger prizes.

Wins contribute to a ‘Level Up’ meter at the right side of the reels. Different levels award different special candy symbols. The ‘Lollipop’ symbol is available from level 1 and rotates all visible symbols, after winning combinations have been calculated, to new positions on the board. The ‘Caramel Chew’ symbol is available from level 2 and will take a random path round the board destroying any symbol it crosses, allowing them to be replaced with new symbols. The ‘White Chocolate’ is available from level 4 symbol will ‘shoot almonds’ causing random symbols on the reels to explode and be replaced. The ‘Gumdrop’ is available from level 6 and will suck up surrounding candies allowing them to be replaced. The ‘Jawbreaker’ is available from level 8 and will move off the reels crushing candies and allowing them to be replaced. The ‘Candy Cane’ is available from level 10 and explodes all the candies in the same row and column as itself. The ‘Jelly Beans’ are available from level 12 and cause any symbol that the Jelly Beans land on to explode and be replaced. The ‘Chocolate’ symbol is available from level 15 and causes a 3×3 box to change into chocolate symbols and explode. The ‘Cotton Candy’ symbol is available from level 20 and will alter the board to create a lot more wins.

On the left side of the reels there is a pattern displayed. Each time you receive a winning combination of candies that occupies part of this pattern, those squares will become highlighted. Once all the squares in the pattern have been highlighted you will receive a bonus prize.

Conclusion

Not really my type of slots game, but still a high quality effort.
