Super Heroes Slot Review

Released: October 2016

The Super Heroes slots game is produced by Yggdrasil Gaming. Yggdrasil Gaming take their name from Norse mythology where Yggdrasil is a magical tree where dragons lived and Odin sacrificed himself. Yggdrasil Gaming are one of the smaller slot development companies on the market at the moment – primarily focusing on lottery and scratch card game – and do not offer a full casino platform. They lease their games out to casinos using other platforms as a bolt on package. Yggdrasil Gaming publish the Return to Player/House Edge of their slots games within the game help file. The House Edge of Super Heroes is 3.90%.

When the world’s in peril you need more than a hero.

The Super Heroes game has 5 reels which are 3 symbols high. There are 20 paylines and you can bet one coin on each of the paylines.

The ‘Wild symbol is Wild.

There are two bonus feature when playing Super Heroes. The first bonus feature is triggered randomly. When this happens two Super Heroes will appear at either side of the reels. Each Super Hero will have a randomly assigned Level between 1 and 4. The following awards are granted by each Super Hero:

– Mirage – Each high paying symbol in view is turned into a dice. Each dice then spins to award a cash prize. The higher Mirage’s Level the higher the bottom end of the prize range is.

– Raven – For each Level of Raven one reel is transformed into a Wild reel.

– Hopper – A number of randomly selected symbols equal to Hopper’s Level plus one are transformed into Wild symbols.

– Tesla – A number of randomly selected high or low paying symbols equal to Tesla’s Level plus one are transformed into a randomly selected high or low symbol to guarantee a win.

– Trance – Awards up to four free spins but can only appear during free spin mode which is described below.

– Knox – A multiplier equal to Knox’s Level plus one is applied to all wins for the spin.

The second bonus feature is activated when you receive 3 or more of the ‘Free Spin’ scatter symbol anywhere on the reels. When this happens you will be awarded 4, 5 or 7 free spins depending on the number of Free Spin scatter symbols you received. During the free spin the Super Heroes bonus feature will be activated every spin. Each Super Hero will first appear at Level one and their Level will increase by one each time they appear.

Conclusion

Super Heroes is an exceptionally visually attractive game with bonus features that are genuinely engaging and exciting. The progressive nature of the free spin feature is great fun. The House Edge is towards the upper end of the range that is commonly being used in recent slots released, but overall this is more than justified by the quality of the game being offered. All in all this is another very strong release by Yggdrasil Gaming.
