The Dark Knight Rises Slot Review

The Dark Knight Rises slot game can be found at Playtech casinos. The company are well-established in the online market and have a large back-catalogue of branded slots. Playtech do not publish the house edge of their games, however several established Playtech casinos have started releasing this information meaning it is sometimes possible to identify their house edge. However, in this instance it has proved impossible for us to establish what the house edge for The Dark Knight Rises is, something that will need to be reflected in our rating for this slot.

The Dark Knight Rises is a 5 reel slot with the following number of symbols in each reel: 3, 4, 4, 4, 3. Instead of paylines you form wins when you land 3 or more identical symbols across adjacent reels, playing from left to right. There are 576 different ways to win.

Special Symbols

Wilds – The Bat Signal is Wild, which will substitute for all symbols other than Bonus symbols. Wilds will only land on reels 2, 3 and 4.

Bonus – The Bonus symbol is the Fusion Reactor. You need to land 3 of them to trigger the Free Spins feature. Bonus symbols will only land on reels 2, 3 and 4.

Bonus Features

The Fire Rises Feature – If you manage to fill the middle 3 reels with matching fully stacked symbols then a multiplier will appear on reels 1 and 5, both of which will be applied to the win that the middle symbols form.

Fusion Reactor Bonus – Before the Free Spins begin you need to spin a wheel, which will determine how many Free Spins you get and how big a win multiplier will be active during your spins. There will be a Batman set of Free Spins and multiplier and a Bane set of Free Spins and multiplier. You then press a button to determine which set you get, with the chance to both sets if you are very lucky. In the Batman Free Spins, all Batman symbols landing on reels 2, 3 and 4 will turn Wild. On the Bane Free Spins all Bane symbols will turn Wild on reels 2, 3 and 4. And on the combined spins (Gotham Spins) they will both turn Wild on reels 2, 3 and 4.

Jackpot – The Jackpot will trigger at random and if it does so you will be taken to a screen filled with 20 blank symbols. There are 4 different coloured tiles for you to reveal and once you have filled one of the jackpots with the required number of matching symbols you will be awarded that Jackpot.

Conclusion

The Dark Knight Rises is a bit like the films, in that it doesn’t quite live up to the promise of the second instalment. You get Free Spins, Wilds and a random feature of sorts. You also get you jackpot, but this isn’t nearly as complex and interesting a slot as The Dark Knight. Add to that the fact that the house edge appears to be impossible to get a read on And I can’t help but feel a little disappointed in this slot.
