The Dog House Slot Review

Released May 2019

The Dog House slot game can be found at casinos offering Pragmatic Play software. Pragmatic Play are one of the newer slots game developers on the market but their products are polished and professional in feel and operation. As a standard Pragmatic Play do publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within their game help file. For a provider that are not currently licensed within the UK market and therefore are under no obligation to publish these figures this is a significantly progressive move. The House Edge The Dog House is 3.49%.

The Dog House is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. The game uses 20 standard paylines, playing from left to right.

Special Symbols

Wild – The “Dog House” is the game’s wild symbol, substituting for all symbols other than the Bonus symbol. Wild symbols are only available on reels 2, 3 and 4. All Wilds on the same reel have a multiplier of x2 or x3. The Wild multiplier applies to the payline that is it part of. If there is more than one Wild in a payline, the multipliers will be added together.

Scatter/Free Spins– The Scatter/Free Spins symbol is the “Paw Print”. Three or more of them anywhere on the reels at once will trigger the game’s Free Spins feature. “Paw Print” symbols can only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5, with 3 on a single spin, in any position paying x5 the bet.

Bonus Features

Free Spins – Landing 3 or more “Paw Print” symbols anywhere on the reels at once will award you a random number of Free Spins. This is determined by a dog spinning a set of barrels. There are 3×3 barrels and each one will reveal a number of free spins, all of which are added together to give you your total. During the Free Spins all Wilds symbols that land will stick in place for the duration of the feature. Free Spins cannot be re-triggered.

Conclusion

The Dog House is a very cute little offering from Pragmatic Play. The dogs all look fantastic, each one with its own little animated sequence that it performs if it helps to form a winning payline. The colours are bright and bold and drawn in a cartoon style that wouldn’t see the symbols out of place in a Pixar movie. The features are simple but effective. Wilds coming with multipliers is something we always welcome and the sticky wilds during the Free Spins really helps you to rack up those wins. A bonus feature would have been good, but I think most slots players will be happy with their lot here. The house edge is reasonable, making this a game we would recommend.
