Top Spot Slot Review

The Top Spot slots game can be found at online casinos offering WMS Gaming software who are a wholly owned subsidiary of Scientific Gaming. WMS Gaming do not publish their RTP or House Edge figures as standard. However UKGC licensed operators who now publish all game figures as standard. As such we can say that the House Edge of Top Spot is 6.00% when betting less than 2 credits, 4.00% when betting 2 credits or more and 2.00% when playing the Big Bet feature. As this figure has not been confirmed by the software provider we cannot confirm whether this game is configurable or not. As such this figure should be treated as a guideline only when playing at any operator that does not publish their RTP figures.

Will you reach the lofty heights?

Top Spot is a 5 reel game with 10 paylines.

There is no Wild symbol when playing Top Spot.

There are two bonus features when playing Top Spot. The first bonus feature is triggered when you receive a winning combination. When this happens an additional reel above the reels will spin selecting one symbol from the paytable randomly. If the symbol select matches symbols that made up one of your winning combinations those symbols will be locked in place and all other symbols will be respun allowing new symbols to add to the winning combination.

The second bonus feature can be activated before any spin by pressing the ‘Big Bet’ button. When this happens you will be taken to a new screen showing three different options:

– For a bet of 20 credits you’ll receive 5 spins. During these spins 20 paylines are used and some symbols come with a 2x win multiplier.

– For a bet of 30 credits you’ll receive 5 spins. During these spins 20 paylines are used and some symbols come with a 2 or 3x win multiplier.

Conclusion

Top Spot isn’t a terrible game but neither is it all that exciting. The Big Bet feature has been reused and vastly improved on dozens of other WMS Gaming slots releases since Top Spot making choosing this game a little redundant. The other bonus feature mimics in an inferior way the cascading wins features seen in slots games made by dozens of different providers today. Combined this with a House Edge that would be higher than many of these newer titles and we have a game that’s not going to blow anyone’s mind.
