Treasure Mine Slot Review

The Treasure Mine game can be found at casinos offering Red Tiger software. Red Tiger is a relatively new software developer in the online gaming market, having only been in operation since 2014. Red Tiger focus primarily on slots games but do offer a few table games, albeit a very limited range of them. In compliance with UK gaming legislation, Red Tiger publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within their pay tables. As such, we can say that the House Edge for Treasure Mine is 4.8%.

Treasure Mine is a 5 reel game that is 4 symbols high. The game uses 40 paylines, playing from left to right.

Special Symbols

Wild – There are multiple Wild symbols in this game, but the standard Wild is easy enough to spot as it contains no characters and no gems. It looks like a section of a mine surrounded by golden nuggets and like all the Wilds in this game it will substitute for all symbols other than the Bonus symbol. It also happens to be the most valuable symbol in the game with 3 as part of a winning payline paying out 40 times the bet; whilst 4 as part of a winning payline will pay out 100 times the bet and 5 part of a winning payline will pay out 320 times the bet.

High Paying Symbol – Not including Wilds, the highest paying symbol in the game is the “Hammer”. The “Hammer” will pay out 36 times the bet if you can land 3 as part of a winning payline, 92 times the bet if you can land 4 as part of a winning payline and 240 times the bet if you can land 5 as part of a winning payline.

Bonus – The “Mine Cart” symbol is the game’s Bonus symbol. 3 or more of them on a single spin, regardless of paylines will activate the game’s Bonus Feature.

Treasure Run – The Treasure Run is the game’s bonus feature, which is triggered when you land 3 or more of the “Mine Cart” symbols on a single spin. When you activate the feature your job is to choose which of the 3 lines you want Redbeard to take as he hurtles his way through the mine, picking up gems and gold, all of which add up to a cash total that you can take away. Each line is covered with prizes but also has pitfalls that will end the bonus when you land on them. The bonus will end when fall down a mineshaft or when you have collected 1000 times the bet.

The game also comes with additional Wilds that work in combination with each other. There is the “Redbeard Wild”, the “Gem Wild” and the “Dragon Wild”, all work as standard Wilds and their special feature combinations are described below:

Redbeard Wild plus Gem Wild – If you land a “Redbeard Wild” and a “Gem Wild “ on a single spin, Redbeard will jump out of his symbol and begin hacking the “Gem Wild” to pieces. Each time he does so you will be awarded a cash prize.

Gem Wild plus Dragon Wild – If you land a “Gem Wild” and a “Drgaon Wild” on the reels at the same time then the Dragon will leap from its symbol and breath fire on the “Gem Wild”. As it does so it will multiply the number of “Gem Wild” symbols that are on the reels.

Dragon Wild plus Redbeard Wild – If you land a “Dragon Wild” plus a “Redbeard Wild” on the reels at once then both will jump from their symbols the Dragon will begin breathing fire in Redbeard’s direction. As Redbeard runs from the flames he will leave in his wake a trail of standard Wilds on the reels.

Treasure Mine is an excellent looking game that takes a fairly standard theme and peppers it with so many additional features that it becomes easy to forget that you’ve seen this type of game before. Treasure Mine comes with its own insane looking dwarf called Redbeard who likes nothing more than sitting in a mine cart as it thunders its way towards gaping mineshafts. He is also partial to jumping out of his symbols to attack other symbols, something that adds to the overall aesthetic and gameplay. There are a lot of features with all sorts of wilds that combine in different, exciting ways. There is an excellent bonus feature but one thing you do not get are any free spins. The house is a massive let down here. Sitting a nearly 5% just is not good enough and will impact heavily on the score that we give the game, even though there is little for us to criticise elsewhere. Essentially we can’t recommend this game because it does not offer good value for money.
