Zombie Hoard Slot Review

Released: March 2019

The Zombie Hoard slots game can be found at Microgaming casinos. Microgaming as a standard now publish the slots house edge information of all their games at any online casino that holds a UKGC license (this is a requirement for all UKGC licensed casinos. As such we can say that the House Edge of Zombie Hoard is 4.71%. When playing at any venue that does not hold a UKGC license and does not specifically publish the Return to Player information for their game, this information should be used as a guideline only as we cannot confirm whether or not this game is configurable.

Zombie Hoard is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. There are 9 paylines in total, paying from left to right.

Special Symbols

Wild– The “Zombie Hoard” symbol is the Wild symbol, substituting for all symbols other than Scatters. It also happens to be the most valuable symbol in the game; with 5 of them as part of a winning payline paying out 6000 times the bet. “Zombie Hoard” symbols come stacked on reels 3 and 4 in the base game and on all reels during the Free Spins.

Scatter – The “Brain” is the game’s Scatter symbol, meaning it will pay out in combinations of 2 to 5, without needing to be part of a winning payline. “Brain” symbols will also trigger the game’s Free Spins feature if you can land 3 or more of them on a single spin.

Tokens – Tokens turn up on low paying symbols and are essentially small versions of the Scatter symbol, appearing on the bottom right-hand side of each symbol. The more of them that you collect, the more Free Spins you are awarded when the feature is eventually triggered. If you can collect 30 tokens then you will trigger the Free Spins feature.

Bonus Features

Free Spins – As described above, there are two ways to trigger the Free Spins feature. You can do so by landing 3 Scatter symbols on the reels at once, or by collecting 30 tokens. The tokens also determine how many Free Spins you will receive. During the Free Spins all “Zombie Hoard” tokens come stacked on every reel and all wins are multiped by 2.

Conclusion

Zombie Hoard appears to have everything you would want in a zombie game. There are zombies, Free Spins and wilds. Your Free Spins come with a whole host of little addons, all of which get you thinking that this must surely be a game offering excellent value for money, along with some solid gameplay. However, the house edge on offer here is far too high. At well over 4%, Zombie Hoard is offering seriously poor value for money. This alone makes Zombie Hoard a game we wouldn’t recommend you play.
