Overview
Set up in 2011,
NuWorks software is one of the smaller providers currently on the market and caters to casinos looking to accept US customers.
Owned and operated by Hastings International, the same group that currently owns RealTime Gaming software, NuWorks bares more than a striking similarity to their better known sister platform. Many of the games and features are near identical graphically.
As with
RealTime Gaming casinos, NuWorks currently offers a download only platform. Graphically, the similarity to RealTime Gaming is not hugely favourable – while the look of the games is of a higher standard than many of the smaller platforms, they fail to meet the standards set by the industry leaders like
Microgaming casinos,
Net Entertainment casinos, Playtech or even BetSoft.
Like RealTime Gaming, the gameplay is fast and smooth, so fast in fact that it would be challenging even for a really experienced player to outpace the top play speeds on most games. Unlike RealTime Gaming however, the game selection is very weak with not even two score slots games and only a bare scattering of table and video poker games.
Their slots games are again very similar to RealTime Gaming and offer both a game speed adjustment feature and a autoplay feature. NuWork do not publish the Return To Player (RTP) figures of their slots games.
NuWorks currently offer only three versions of video poker, though they offer 5 different number of hands options. Their video poker games do not offer any form of autoplay feature. Alongside this the maximum win on any single round of play is restricted to $50k. This means that if you play higher numbers of hands and hit a pat royal flush (a natural dealt to the first hand without having to change anything), you will lose a substantial portion of your winnings.
Seeming to be just a weaker version of RealTime Gaming, NuWorks doesn’t seem to offer any substantial improvement over the Hasting Groups main brand and in fact is far too similar to be distinctive. It’s difficult to see what the business plan behind the launch of this software was.
