Overview

WMS Gaming is a subsidiary of WMS Industries who are in turn a wholly owned subsidiary of the Scientific Games Corporation. They have roots in the Williams Manufacturing Corporation (hence the 'WM' in the name). This company originally produced pinball machines and video gaming consoles, but with the decline in the arcade market in the 1990's - largely due to the rise in popularity of the home gaming consoles - these markets were dropped and the company focused on designing and building video gambling consoles for the offline gambling market. With the decline in the offline casino markets after the 2008 financial crash, WMS Gaming started to devote resource to producing online and mobile casino games. Online WMS Gaming have a strong focus on slots games and only provide a partial suite of of casino games that is missing most major table games. Their games catalogue currently includes over 100 slots games, 2 roulette games and a couple of casino table poker games. At the time of writing they appear to offer a version of Three Card Poker and Let it Ride, but are missing all other table games (including Blackjack and Baccarat). WMS Gaming do not offer any Video Poker games that we are aware of. In terms of slots games, WMS Gaming offer games that are generally graphically appealing, have a clear gaming interface but do not offer any autoplay or function to adjust the speed of play. The House Edge/RTP of the WMS Gaming slots games is listed within the paytable and can generally be found on the last page. Their games appear to average a House Edge of around 4% (96% RTP) but do range from under 2% House Edge (98% RTP) to around 6% House Edge (94% RTP). This ranges is around average for the industry, but the lower House Edge figures (available only for players betting at high stakes) are amongst the lowest we've encountered online with any software provider. It should also be noted that WMS Gaming feature many high profile brand names in their slots catalogue including the Monopoly and Rainbow Riches franchises. They are creative and diverse with their bonus features and offer some of the most entertaining slots games currently on the market. WMS Gaming don't offer a product that would do well in the modern market as a primary provider, they lack the range of non-slots games to outfit an entire casino platform, but they do make a decent addition to game catalogue when a more significant main platform is already in place.
