BoVegas - Breach of terms and conditions

Found for the Player - The term BoVegas are enforcing here is either poorly worded or specifically intended to exploit vulnerable players. The manner in which they've chosen to enforce it results in the latter.

Player's Complaint

I increased my deposit limit from 25 euro to 1000 euro for bovegas. Their terms clearly state it takes 24 hours before the increase takes effect. I was able to deposit instantly after increasing the limit. I was able to deposit 600 and 400. I have contacted bovegas but they are not admitting a problem on their part

Hi kyle99ranger - welcome to!

Firstly, as a UK citizen you should only be playing with operators that hold a UKGC license. Bovegas Casino do not hold a UKGC license and as such are breaking UK law by accepting your play.

Likewise, BoVegas do not provide any licensing information that we are aware of and as such there is no authority requiring them to meet any standards of treatment in terms of Responsible Gambling.

Unfortunately you've also chosen to play with a group that are both negatively listed here an inconsistent in their response to complaints submitted to us. While we will try to contact the operator on your behalf, the chances of a successful mediation are low.

Hi kyle99ranger,

I've spoken to Bovegas about this issue and unfortunately it's not good news.

You are entirely correct that the Bovegas site states:

"9.8. The player can set a deposit limit on Account at any time by addressing to his/her personal Account manager. This limit cannot be increased without giving us 24 (twenty four) hours’ notice of such wish to increase deposit limit."

However, the operator are arguing that this term means that any request for a limit to be increased will be actioned within 24 hours rather than that they have to enforce a 24 hour cooling off period before your limit will be increased.

This is one of the most nonsensical, ridiculous positions that we've ever seen an operator take. They are arguing that they have put in place terms to ensure that players who are vulnerable and trying to control their gambling in a responsible manner are given access to gambling products again as quickly as possible. Not only is this contrary to any reasonable definition of responsible gambling but it is contrary to the policies of effectively the policies of every other group who look to enforce cooling off periods.

I think it's far more likely that this term was originally constructed with the intention of providing a cooling off period and is not being opportunistically exploited now they've realised how poorly worded it is and there is a reasonable sum of money at stake.

The operator have refused to change their position on this issue and we'll be moving this entire group to Blacklist status due to this issue.

Sorry we could not be of further help!
