English in United States
Found for the Player - While Rembrandt Casino did include a restriction on Dutch players in their terms, their website was freely available to Dutch IPs and their registration form allowed Dutch addresses.
Read our Rembrandt Casino Review.
Despite their own terms and conditions, no responsibility taken to prevent me, as Dutch citizen, from registering, depositing and playing on their website. That is unlawful.
In this case I do not agree. Rembrandt Casino is stating in their own T&C that players from Netherlands are prohibited to play on their website. When registering all details are asked for (i.e. country of residence, address etc) already at that moment the system should have blocked or should have made it unable to continue let alone DEPOSIT € 2150,- by using the offered paying method IDEAL which is typically and only for Dutch consumers! They breach own T&C and that alone makes this unlawful and that has nothing to do about lack of license.

Having reviewed the Rembrandt Casino registration process I can indeed confirm that they are not restricting Dutch IP addresses and their registration form actively allows players to select 'Netherlands' as an address option. These factors do change my initially provided conclusion about this claim.
Subsequently I have contacted the operator who were initially responsive. However, once information had been provided about the nature of this complaint, the operator stopped responding.
We consider your claim valid, however at this juncture it seems reasonable to concluded that there is nothing further that we could do to uphold your claim. All I can suggest is that you contact the operator's ADR IBAS. Alternatively, if you wished to consider legal action our understanding is that GreenTableLegal.com offer a no win no fee service that specialises in the remote gambling sector.
Sorry we could not be of further help.
Thanks for this, I have now forwarded the issue to IBAS. Well see what happens next. Cheers!
Wanted to give you guys an update.
IBAS rejected my claim as they say placed bets are played and therefor they do not act and intervene.
I have now forwarded the case to Greentablelegal.com.
Well see and wait.

Hi pepijnvbf - welcome to ThePOGG.com!
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to help you in this instance. As explained in our Complaints FAQs we do not pursue refunds of losses based on lack of license. If your own government cannot prevent unlicensed operators from accepting their citizens, there is no possibility of the operator offering a refund simply on the basis of us asking them to.
Sorry we cannot be of further help.
