Yeti Casino - Deposit refund

Ruling

Found for the Casino - Yeti Casino would not have been required to conduct document based KYC or prevent play at this juncture in the player's journey.

Read our Yeti Casino Review.

Player's Complaint

According to Yeti's terms and conditions, all players who register to join Yeti casino, should be verified before they can deposit funds into their account. Howcome I was allowed to deposit funds straight away after opening an account. I registered an account with Yeti Casino on the 8th March 2023 and was sent an email on 13th March to verify account. I was allowed to deposit £1,110 before my account was verified. This is negligence from a gambling company. They allowed me to deposit funds and play with those funds when their terms clearly state that all players who open an account must be verified before they can deposit funds and play with those funds. They say this for UK players only but they should have stated this in their terms. I demand my deposit refund of £1,110 as their terms clearly state, players should be verified before they can deposit funds in their account. I opened an account and was allowed to deposit funds and play. This is unacceptable and I want my deposit refund. My account was verified on 20th March 2023

Hi Games1 - welcome to ThePOGG.com!

Please read our Complaint Guidance to ensure that you fully understand how our complaint management process functions.

As we are the ADR for the L&L Europe license under the Malta Gaming Authority license there is certain information we have to provide you now.

You can find all the relevant information about this service here – http://thepogg.com/terms-of-use/ and the terms of use for our complaint service here - https://thepogg.com/terms-of-use-for-dispute-resolution-service/

To summarise.

– Use of this service does not preclude your seeking redress through court proceedings .

– This service is free to use for both the complainant and operator.

– At any point during the procedure the submitting party retains the right to withdraw their complaint. This does not preclude our right to continue the discussion with the involved operator of general issues related to the complaint (i.e. insufficiently clear terms and conditions).

– You are not obliged to obtain independent or legal advice or representation, though you may choose to do so.

If you have any questions about the above, let me know.

Unfortunately there is nothing that we can do to assist you in this matter. I would direct your attention to the following term inclusions:

"18. The customer acknowledges and agrees that they shall be identified and verified upon registration with our casino, through the use of an electronic verification system, strictly to comply with General Regulatory Obligations. The customer acknowledges and agrees, that where electronic verification cannot successfully identify and verify him/her, the customer will need to provide documentation in a digital format, that will clearly ascertain their identity before the customer can deposit, make use of a bonus or otherwise gamble with the casino."

Firstly, electronic verification is carried out non-invasively - i.e. via open source data and does not require contact with the player or for the player to provide documentation. This type of verification is conducted automatically when you register.

"16. In line with the General Regulatory Obligations a customer is requested to provide verification documentation whenever a minimum single transaction of £700 (€1,000) is carried out, or when reaching a total of £1400 (€2,000) in transactions. However, in observance of our Responsible Gaming obligations, and in order to prevent problematic gambling behaviour, we have in place other verification requirements."

Secondly, you had not passed the above thresholds that would require further verification checks.

Finally, even while verification is ongoing, the FIAU regulations do not require that the operator refuses deposits or prevents play. They require that no payments are issued to the player until they are adequately verified, but nothing further

You may find our free Responsible Gambling app BetBlocker useful. It allows users to restrict their internet capable devices from accessing over 18k gambling operator websites for between 24 hours and 5 years.

You can also find information on the various support agencies available to support you in your country in our Responsible Gambling Directory.

Sorry we cannot be of further assistance,

ThePOGG
